The links now work thanks to Night Flower. Please pass this on.

It has been a long time since I have posted, hoping some may remember me, and hope all are doing well :)

"As much as His Highness is trying to conserve his energy for Sirius Rising and Starwood some challenges do find him that need to be dealt with. He and Jordan take their role within this very diverse combination of tribes very seriously. They are only about two hundred signatures short of the needed five thousand to protest Kathy Lee Giffords thoughtless negative remarks about pagans."

Being as the Video The Faery King Posted is important, as well as the Petition regarding Nasty Pagan's I am hoping I have created WORKING links to both.

Fundraser for Diana's Grove .... if you ever wanted to stop a logger, now's the time [Jun. 27th, 2008|11:24 pm]
Chicago Pagan Community

Chicago Mysteries presents:
In Service to the Sacred:
A Fundraiser to Save the Land at Diana's Grove
Presented as an Earth Spiritualists of Chicago Main Event

July 19th, 2008, 6pm-midnight
2032 W. Fulton, Chicago, IL 60612

Do you value the environment?
What if the choices you made could save sacred land?
You can make a difference.

Right now, in the foothills of the ancient Ozark Mountains, a forest being razed to the ground. Half of a total of 880 acres is already a wasteland of dust after the devastation of clear-cutting. This unsustainable logging practice threatens this beautiful land, the habitat of hundreds of species of plants and animals, and the local watershed.

This land borders Diana's Grove, a nature sanctuary and retreat center dedicated to personal and spiritual growth that has touched many lives here in Chicago, and in earth-based communities around the country.

You can help save this land

Please join us for a festive evening of fundraising to generate abundance, both financial and energetic, to help protect this sacred land. You can make an ecological difference in the world with your actions and choices.

For over 15 years, the land of Diana's Grove has stood to support the sacred work of hundreds of people, as well as rescued hundreds of dogs. Diana's Grove offers Mystery School and other retreats that foster personal growth, community building, and leadership development using earth-based spiritual values, practices, and processes.

Make a change in the world that you can see

Right now you can directly save the land; every donation helps to save a tree, and benefit this endangered environment. Your smallest donation matters. All profits generated from this fundraiser will go towards the Diana's Grove land fund.

Schedule of Events:

Please also bring a potluck dish to share, and any items you would like to donate for the auction.

This is a family friendly event, and children are welcome until the Gaia's Groove dance party begins. This event is drug and alcohol free. Please also join us in recycling during this event, and consider using ecologically sustainable choices in food containers.

As of 7:00 pm tonight, the US*99.5 St. Jude Radiothon raised more than $1.8 million. That's over $400,000 more than we raised last year. **does a happy dance**

If any of you were able to donate or were able to come in and volunteer, thank you!

Shameless plug... [Dec. 12th, 2007|08:30 am]
Chicago Pagan Community

[Current Location |Work]
[mood |bouncybouncy]

If the mods feel this is inappropriate, please let me know and I will delete it.

I know this isn't specific to pagans, but it is specific to Chicagoans...and since I am both, I thought I'd try and post a shameless plug (this is cross-posted as a public entry on my personal journal).

Yep, it's that time of year again. The time where I shamelessly promote my do-gooder nature and encourage the rest of you to donate your time and/or money to a very worthy cause (if you can). I do this event every year and I love it. I rarely have the money to donate, so I am always donating my time to helping answering phones.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Radiothon
Sponsored by WUSN - US*99.5 FM in Chicago
Thursday, December 13 and Friday, December 14
6:00 am - 7:00 pm
Gurnee Mills Mall, Gurnee, IL

St. Jude's is a cancer research and treatment center for children. The majority of their donations go straight to research and the rest goes to the hospital. They are NON-PROFIT. The funds raised help keep the hospital up and running. This hospital does not turn ANYONE away...even those without insurance. They pay for travel and meals and hotels for families who just can't afford it, but who have children with cancer.

This year, I will be helping out on Thursday, December 13 (yes, tomorrow) from 6 am - 9 am. If you have some spare time and want to help out, or just see what it is we all do, we'll be located outside of JC Penney (Entry G).

If you live in the Chicago area, you can tune into US*99 beginning tomorrow morning to get the number to call in your donations (again, this is only if you can). Any amount will help out - $5, $10, $20, etc. If you can REALLY help: a $30+/month donation via credit card for one year will make you a Partner in Hope.

If you don't live in the area, you can go to the US*99 website to listen in. If you don't want to call at all, you can make donations via the St. Jude website (linked above).

This is one of the few things I get really excited about. I don't have children of my own, and none of the children that have ever been in my life have ever had to deal with cancer. But for some reason, this holds a special place in my heart and I encourage people to donate or to come in and help out answering phones, mailing out shirts, whatever.

Again, if this is inappropriate for this community, please let me know.

Just wondering... [Sep. 11th, 2007|04:18 pm]

[mood |hopefulhopeful]

Is there anything interesting going on for the Autumn Equinox? I am so excited about the weather changing. I love fall so much - the light, the air, the colors.

Also, does anyone know of any drum circles in or around the city? Preferably something one could get to by public transit...?
